The Arizona Region celebrated its first live event with two fantastic garage tours. Saturday, October 2nd, greeted members with a beautiful, sunny day as we gathered at our first stop in Scottsdale. Close to 25 members and guests enjoyed the excellent hospitality of Mike and Stacey Lovell at their exceptional garage/museum. A generous spread of muffins, coffee, and bagels was on hand to start off the day. Mike grew up around cars, and a few in the collection represent the top-level restoration skills of him and his Dad. Some in the club might recognize Gordon Apker’s old 1932 Packard 900, now lovingly cared for by the Lovells.

It was hard to leave the first garage, but our second stop did not disappoint. Harry and Heather Clark opened their classic car showroom, Classic Promenade, to our group. We were treated to some memorable classics. The Clark’s hosted a delicious greek buffet topped off by a selection of homemade cookies made by Heather’s Mom. On this visit, the cars included: a 1930 Cadillac Series 452 V16 Roadster, a 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Drophead, two 1937 Cadillac Convertible Sedans (one a model 75 V8 and the other a model 85 V12), a 1922 Marmon Model 34B Touring, and 1937 Lincoln Brunn bodied Limousine — among others.

The club’s sincere appreciation goes to Mike and Stacy Lovell and Harry and Heather Clark for their generosity and hospitality.
