It is with deep sadness that I inform our Region members of the passing of my close friend, Clive Cussler.  He passed away at his home in Paradise Valley on Monday, February 24th.  Clive was 88 years old.   Funeral arrangements are pending  and will be private.  His life passion was his writing, family, and Old Cars, including many of our beloved CCCA recognized classics.  Naturally, his world famous best selling books included old cars as an integral part of the plot, especially the adventures of his fictional character, Dirk Pitt.

Clive was always generous in hosting CCCA events, both for the Arizona and Colorado Regions. Along with his wife Janet (who he successfully converted into a car person), the couple hosted two recent events at The Janet Cussler Car Collection here in Scottsdale:

The January 2020 CCCA National Board Meeting during Auction week, and the Collection was part of the bus tour during the CCCA Annual Meeting which took place in Scottsdale during the January, 2019  Auction week.

Clive was a consummate car guy, and being a Celebrity never got in the way of his being down to earth and a gentleman who loved to share great car stories with anyone who was interested.  I will always miss him!
